Bangladesh 246/9 50 overs
West Indies 194 all out 43.4 ov
In my opinon the WICB should bring back the old players as this series is going nowhere and its not good for cricket in general. Bangladesh is also suffering because they need to pay quality cricket against quality players and with all due to respect to the players currently in the WI team they are just not good enough. In my opinion ICC should step in as this is just a mockery of cricket
In other news Pakistan is Plying the Srilankan A team at kurunegla today. This is the only one day side match before the one-day series between Pakistan and Srilanka.
Current Score : Srilanka A 49/2 in8.5 overs
add my blog to your blog roll AHMED bhungee !!!
ReplyDeleteUpdate: Pakistan have lost their side match against Srilanka A by 15 runs
ReplyDeleteSrilanka A scored 348/6 in their 50overs
Pakistan were 333 allout in 50 overs
Pakistani's who shined with the bat were two players which I think will not be in the staring X1 come the first ODI; Umar Akmal and Fawad Alam.Shahid Afridi also score a quick fire 34 and Abdul Razzak not only scored a quck 56 but also took 4 wkts.
Other players like nasir jamshed , Imran Nazir and Misbah did not take this oppurtuntity. This game would have been good practice for the boys who have just arrived and their should be no jitters in the Pakistani camp about this loss as our 3 main players were not part of this match and the new guyz were given a chance.
The only worry for the the Pakistani team would be the amount of runs conceded by our main pace bowlers with all of them going above 70.Still I believe a good practice game for the upcoming games.
First of all Ahmed, I found a lot of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in your blog, so that is something you need to improve.
ReplyDeleteWith respect to the blog written by our dear friend Mr.Anjum, I have to disagree with what he has written. This series has been truly competitive and the second best West Indian team chosen by the WICB(West Indies Cricket Board) have done a good job and gave Bangladesh a run for their money. Congratulations to the Bangladesh cricket team for their first overseas Test series win and also the first against a major Test playing nation. This victory wasn't any walk in the park for them. It is not an easy task for the WICB to create a new team in such a short notice. There were only a few outstanding performers in the team such as Dave Bernard who did very well with the bat and the ball and proved his worth as an all rounder. Then you have Darren Sammy, who was one of the players with some experience in Test cricket, contributing with both bat and ball. He took 5 wickets in one of the Test matches. There were also some young players who shined in the Test series.Among them were Travis Dowlin, who's 32 years young, making a very galiant 95 in the 2nd Test and also you have fast bowler Kemar Roach, who took 6 wickets in one of the test matches. Kemar has been one of the finds of the West Indies in both the Tests and the ODI'S.
ReplyDeleteBut I think this was not the best West Indies team selected to face Bangladesh. There were so many West Indian players they have lying idle who have prior experience in Tests and limited overs cricket. Why did they select players of the West Indies under-19s and A teams? In my opinion Daren Ganga, who has played more than 40 test matches, should have been appointed the captain. He has been captain before, so why didn't they use him. Rawl Lewis, who played in the one-dayers, wasn't selected in the Test series and some uncapped player named Ryan Austin was playing instead of him.As far as a wicketkeeper is concerned, they used Chadwick Walton for the test matches and Devon Smith for the one-dayers. Why did they use two uncapped keepers for two different formats? I am guessing where in the world is Carlton Baugh who is considered to be the second best keeper after Denesh Ramdin. When West Indies played Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, he was playing instead of Denesh Ramdin. He is a very young and agile keeper as well as useful batsman down the order.I think West Indies should use less uncapped players and give more opportunities to the experienced players. If they can select a 36 year old guy like Floyd Riefer to play for the West Indies after 10 years, then they could have selected these players too. There should also be consistency in selection as there shouldn't be one squad for the tests and then a completely different squad for the one-dayers as you have seen in this series. This is the squad which in my opinion should have played against Bangladesh in the Tests and ODIs.
Squad for Tests:Daren Ganga(captain),Devon Smith, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Ryan Hinds, Floyd Riefer, Carlton Baugh(wk), Darren Sammy (vice-captain), Rawl Lewis, Omari Banks, Kemar Roach, Tino Best, Dave Bernard, Amit Jaggernauth, Xavier Marshall, Travis Dowlin
Squad for ODIs: Daren Ganga(captain), Devon Smith, Sewnarine Chattergoon,Andre Fletcher, Floyd Riefer, Carlton Baugh(wk),Darren Sammy (vc), Rawl Lewis, Omari Banks, Kemar Roach, Tino Best, Dave Bernard, Nikita Miller, Xavier Marshall, Travis Dowlin
